Sponsored by ESRI and linking to International GIS day, this is shaping up to be an informative, fun and varied day.

The aim of International GIS day is to demonstrate real–world applications that are making a difference in our society. The events are aimed at a wide audience from schools to businesses.

Amongst others, we will hear from Experian (the company responsible for collecting and analysing data from Nectar cards), West Midlands Fire Service and MapAction (an organisation that maps disasters and famine).

Delegates will also hear about the use of geographical information in schools and experience a Pictometer demonstration, swooping through the streets of Wolverhampton.
